The 2004 Grand Prix of Spain was held on May 9 2004. It was the 5th event of the season. The Grand Prix was held at the Circuit de Catalunya circuit and was 66 laps long. The race was won by Michael Schumacher. It was the 5th win of the season for Schumacher. He would eventually get 13 wins in 2004 and become champion. The German, who drove for Ferrari, finished the race in 1:27:32.841. He had a lead of 13.2 secs to Rubens Barrichello who came in second and finished 32.2 secs in front of Jarno Trulli who was third. Of the 20 drivers who competed in the race, 7 retired. Michael Schumacher remained 1st and extended his lead with 2 points to 18 points.
It was the 34th time that the Grand Prix of Spain was held and the 14th time at the Circuit de Catalunya circuit.
