The 2004 Grand Prix of Canada was held on June 13 2004. It was the 8th event of the season. The Grand Prix was held at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve circuit and was 70 laps long. The race was won by Michael Schumacher. It was the 7th win of the season for Schumacher. He would eventually get 13 wins in 2004 and become champion. The German, who drove for Ferrari, finished the race in 1:28:24.803. He had a lead of 5.1 secs to Rubens Barrichello who came in second and finished 20.4 secs in front of Jenson Button who was third. Of the 20 drivers who competed in the race, 6 retired. Michael Schumacher remained 1st and extended his lead with 2 points to 16 points.
It was the 36th time that the Grand Prix of Canada was held and the 26th time at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve circuit.
