The race was won by Sebastian Vettel. It was his first win towards his world championship that year. The German, who drove for Red Bull-Renault, finished the race in 1:29:30.259. He had a lead of 22.2 secs to Lewis Hamilton who came in second and finished 30.5 secs in front of Vitaly Petrov who was third. Of the 22 drivers who competed in the race, 6 retired.
