The 2011 Grand Prix of Australia was held on March 27 2011. It was the 1st event of the season. The Grand Prix was held at the Albert Park circuit and was 58 laps long. The race was won by Sebastian Vettel. It was his first win towards his world championship that year. The German, who drove for Red Bull-Renault, finished the race in 1:29:30.259. He had a lead of 22.2 secs to Lewis Hamilton who came in second and finished 30.5 secs in front of Vitaly Petrov who was third. Of the 22 drivers who competed in the race, 6 retired.
It was the 27th time that the Grand Prix of Australia was held and the 16th time at the Albert Park circuit.
