The 2011 Grand Prix of Great Britain was held on July 10 2011. It was the 9th event of the season. The Grand Prix was held at the Silverstone Circuit and was 52 laps long. The race was won by Fernando Alonso. It was the only win of the season for Alonso. The Spaniard, who drives for Ferrari, had a lead of 16.5 secs to Sebastian Vettel who came in second and finished 16.9 secs in front of Mark Webber who was third. Of the 24 drivers who competed in the race, 5 retired. Because of his win Fernando Alonso went from P5 to P3.
It was the 62nd time that the Grand Prix of Great Britain was held and the 45th time at the Silverstone Circuit.
