The 2011 Grand Prix of Germany was held on July 24 2011. It was the 10th event of the season. The Grand Prix was held at the Nurburgring circuit and was 60 laps long. The race was won by Lewis Hamilton. It was the 2nd win of the season for Hamilton. He would eventually get 3 wins in 2011. The Brit, who drives for McLaren-Mercedes, had a lead of 3.9 secs to Fernando Alonso who came in second and finished 9.7 secs in front of Mark Webber who was third. Of the 24 drivers who competed in the race, 4 retired. After the race Sebastian Vettel was leading the driver championship with 216 points. Because of his win Lewis Hamilton went from P4 to P3.
It was the 58th time that the Grand Prix of Germany was held and the 25th time at the Nurburgring circuit.
