The 2011 Grand Prix of Hungary was held on July 31 2011. It was the 11th event of the season. The Grand Prix was held at the Hungaroring circuit and was 70 laps long. The race was won by Jenson Button. It was the 2nd win of the season for Button. He would eventually get 3 wins in 2011. The Brit, who drives for McLaren-Mercedes, had a lead of 3.5 secs to Sebastian Vettel who came in second and finished 19.8 secs in front of Fernando Alonso who was third. Of the 24 drivers who competed in the race, 4 retired. After the race Sebastian Vettel was leading the driver championship with 234 points. Jenson Button remained 5th but closed the gap to the number 4 with 10 points to 11 points.
It was the 26th time that the Grand Prix of Hungary was held at the Hungaroring circuit.
